I like this business logo. I'm not sure exactly what business it is for, but I can assume that it is for a window company. i like it b/c it is simple and the picture relates to the name of the business. The color was well chosen b/c first of all, when you think of clouds you think of the sky, so blue and white. Second, The blue color gives the feel of professionalism that customers can trust. I think that this logo conveys that they are a window business more on the expensive side, but is promotes quality in their products.

Good Design Bad Design

Write a brief statement about your example of “bad design” that you chose, explaining why it doesn’t communicate well and what could be done to improve the layout.

This is my example of a bad design. The idea is cute, but spacing and proportion just do not go well together. In the middle, there is this empty white space that could be used. They did a good job with making the services big and bold, but the contact information needs to be seen, and not hidden in the corner.

When I looked at the content for the first time, I felt like my eyes were going everywhere, searching through the ad for information. Image wise, I think that the star and photo of the dog is placed randomly.

What can be done to improve the layout is making everything symmetrical and proportionate. The name of the business and services is already good by making them big and bold. But to better distinguish them apart, different colors would do the trick. The contact information should definitely be bigger and placed in a spot where it can easily be seen and not searched for. You can see in the top right corner, it says "state of the art veterinary Hospital". I honestly did not see that until I was studying the layout and content of the ad. That part needs to be seen.
